Watercrolor Wonder Crayons give you the ability to quickly create artistic watercolor looks. Here are just a few ideas of how to use them:

• Color direcly onto the stamp. Mist the stamp with a fine spray of water and stamp onto watercolor paper.
• Scribble crayon color onto a plastic plate or scrap paper and use it as your palette, picking up the color with an Aqua Painter or watercolor brush to color a stamped image.
• Stamp an outline image using Black Stazon ink, then color the image with crayons; blend with a watercolor brush or Aqua Painter.
• Color without using water just as you would with any crayon.

My Digital Studio: Baby Onboard

Guess who's going to be a grandmother?

Yep, that's my granddaughter currently lodging in my youngest daughter, Katelyn.

The layout is a 8" x 8" scrapbook page created in Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio software. Oh, how I love this software!

What I don't love is the name "Grandma." So, what do I want the child to call me?

Well, of course I believe my granddaughter will come up with her own name for her cherished grandmother, such as "Wonderful-wise-woman-who-knows-all." My son-in-law, however, is not buying it.

So I need suggestions. Leave a comment with your favorite grandmother name -- I'll draw a few names and send you one of my full project tutorials.

My daughter and son-in-law have started a new life, and Stampin' Up! has come up wtih a way for you to have a new life, too...as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Time, Gentlemen Please

Oh, yes it IS time -- Hold onto your hats, dear readers, as we there is SO much happening in our creative world of scrapbooking, cardmaking and home décor and so much going on specifically in Stampin' Up!

I spent most of May closing down a music school business, working on disaster relief with the American Red Cross and traveling. I arrived home from New York in the wee hours this morning, thanks to a flight delayed for hours due to storms...four hours spent in a crowded and hot La Guardia Airport followed by two hours sitting on a crowded and hot plane -- on the runway! Not one of my better travel experiences, to say the least.

In the hours since my return, I've immersed myself in the Last Chance lists, the sneak peeks for demonstrators, new downloads for My Digital Studio and an awesome Starter Kit for new demonstrators. Whew! I haven't even had time to catch up on Glee - LOL!

Haiti Relief: I {Heart} Hearts

Stampin' Up!'s Haiti Relief effort includes the gathering, sorting and packing of 5,000 hygiene kits. Employees volunteered their time to help in the relief effort.

You can also help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12.

From now until February 28, 2010, Stampin' Up!^® will set aside $2 from the sale of every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and donate it to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

Those of you who know me personally know that I am a very active volunteer with the American Red Cross and strongly believe in its mission and vision. So I am happy to match the donation Stampin' Up! is making -- I will also donate $2 to Red Cross from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set sold from now until February 28, 2010.

Together, we can make a difference!

Chattanooga Chat

The Chattanooga Convention Center was host to Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the southeast on Friday and Saturday. Stampin' Up! brought in staff who showed off the latest in techniques, business tips and hot stamping and scrapbooking trends, while some of my own stampin' pals demonstrated WOW techniques.

Here’s a clever use of the Scallop Envelope die. The basket on the left uses six of the Big Shot die-cuts; the one on the right uses sixteen (eight on the top and eight on the bottom).

Earth Day: When Black is Really Green

Not long ago, a customer emailed her demonstrator to ask if the company was eco-friendly. The demonstrator turned the question over to the company. Here's Stampin' Up!'s response.

"Thank you for your e-mail regarding your desire to know if our products are environmentally friendly. We  can tell you that our ink is non toxic. Also, our card stock includes recycled paper that’s left over from other paper runs, which would otherwise end up in a landfill. The darker the color of card stock, the more recycled material is in the card stock. (Who would have thought that Basic Black was our greenest color?)"

"Additionally, we work with a paper broker who ensures that the mills we use for our Designer Series paper and card stock engage in environmentally friendly practices. Our broker is even certified through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), and the Program for the Endorsement of Forestry Certification (PEFC). These certifications help us know that our paper comes from sustainably-managed forests and mills that are taking steps to lessen their carbon footprint. One of our mills even generates its own power.

"Rather than dumping our excess rubber in a landfill, we donate it to Courage Reins, a nonprofit organization that provides horseback riding therapy for physically or mentally challenged children. They take our ground rubber and sell it to groups and individuals for use in playgrounds and horse stables. The money they receive from the sale of this rubber goes to fund their programs. You can find more information about Courage Reins at www.couragereins. org.

"Additionally, our wood blocks are not only created from a renewable resource, we engage in a sustainable practice to get those wood blocks. We work with a tree farm in which the maple trees are grown specifically for the purpose of harvesting wood!"

It's Anchors Aweigh for These Guards

Shelli Gardner, CEO of Stampin' Up!, presented 85 cruise trips to the Utah National Guard. The lucky members received the word January 16th that they would be "reporting to duty" for a 7-day cruise to Bermuda. Many of these members have served multiple tours of duty overseas.
