Time On A Tile

Oooh, we had fun creating tile coasters at our May 3D Stamp Club meeting in Duluth!

The tiles are unglazed marble tiles available at large hardware stores.

The great thing about using Stazon is that the tile does not require baking or sealing and so retains its ability to absorb moisture -- it continues to act as a "thirsty stone." You can also retain the absorption by stamping with SU craft ink and embossing with clear embossing powder.

We finished the back of the coasters by gluing on felt corners with Crystal Effects, and signing our artwork. The felt is cut from 8 1/2" x 11" sheets of regular craft felt (available at craft and office supply stores).

A package of coasters tied with ribbon makes a lovely housewarming gift.

If It Ain’t Broke…

It’s your fault.

I spent considerable time trying to enhance my blog with some new whiz-bang tools and a fresh look -- all for the pleasure of you, dear readers.

Instead, I managed to break my blog. Yep, they said it couldn’t be done. HAH! Just call me the Blog Breaker!

This post is to test if I can get something up on the blog without making myself crazy. Okay, crazier.

To reward you for reading this far…and just because I’m brimming with news of cool, fun toys from the new Stampin’ Up! catalog, here’s a photo to whet your appetite.

The stamp set, Classic Sketches, just jumped off the page of the catalog when I first opened it up.

Stampin’ Up! describes it this way: “Roman styling characterizes the images in the Classic Sketches stamp set. Express your inner Da Vinci when you watercolor the beautifully intricate column diagrams and detailed sculpture drawings. You don't even have to be Italian!”

Who doesn’t want to be a Da Vinci?! Also, I thought… what a great set to use on my scrapbook pages of last year’s trip to Italy, Turkey and Greece. So this one is a “must have” for me.
