My stampin' "Mom" – my upline Susan Barron – just returned from a fabulous trip courtesy of Stampin' Up!
Susan and her husband enjoyed an all-expenses-paid trip to the Big Island of Hawaii at a gorgeous resort.
At our group meeting today, Susan had a souvenir gift packet for each of us using the new stamp set Matchbox Messages from the Occasions mini catalog. The cute package has several Hawaiian souvenirs, complete with Hershey macadamia nut treats. She even had a big bag of these yummy chocolate candies on the table so we didn't have to break into the cute packets she'd made up up for each of us. Now there's a woman who understands chocolate!

It all started with an iron.
My husband and I were invited to a friend's wedding last weekend, and of course I waited until the day before the ceremony to shop for a wedding gift.
The only thing in stock that was on the bride's gift list was an iron. It's a nice iron, but sheesh!
So I bought a gift card to wrap up with the iron. But what to wrap it in?
I wheeled the Stems & Silhouettes jumbo wheel with black ink on plain kraft wrapping paper, colored in some of the flowers with a Pretty in Pink marker and added Pink Pirouette wide ribbon.
I topped the gift with a paper bow. These are so much fun to make and open up a whole world of possibilities using Stampin' Up!'s double-sided designer paper.
I'll post a bow tutorial for you this week.
For the matching card, I again used the Stems & Silhouettes wheel on Kraft cardstock layered onto black. The base card is Pirouette Pink. I embossed the heart from the Always stamp set in black on a piece of Pink Pirouette and on a piece of Pretty in Pink; then cut them out. They're mounted to the card with dimensionals.
The "Congrats" sentiment is from the Say It With Scallops set, this year's Ronald McDonald design. Stampin' Up! donates $2 from each one of these sets sold to the Ronald McDonald House Charities and has donated more than $700,000 to RMHC. (There's additional information about the RMHC program on the inside back cover of the current catalog.)
A piece of coordinating designer paper, some ribbon and a few brads complete the card.
This was such a fun project to make, and I know that the handmade nature will be well appreciated by the bride, Miriam. Congrats to Miriam and Josh...may your lives together be filled with love, peace and grace.
