As I prepared to show you a quick holiday card we did last week at my downline meeting, I pulled out a calendar to count up the days until Christmas. Then I thought, "Hold on, girl. This is 2012. I can just google it!"
So I did.
Turns out there are all kinds of holiday counters out there in the great unwashed internet, just ticking the days, hours, minutes and seconds away. Who knew?
My favorite was a site where you could email directly to ol' Santa himself, and the sound of a hearty "Ho, Ho, Ho!" greeted me as I arrived at the site. It was my favorite site because it expressed the countdown this way…
Awwww….200 sleeps! (Click here if you want to check it out for yourself.)
Just think — if you made one card every day starting today, you'd have enough to mail to 200 of your closest friends and relatives.
So here's a quick mini card to get you started.
Delightful Decorations (Wood #116517; Clear #127787)
Crumb Cake CS
Whisper White CS
Gumball Green scrap (a new In Color)
Raspberry Ripple (another new In Color)
Ornament punch (#119847)
1" Circle punch (#119868)
Bird Builder punch (#117191) for leaves
Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439)
Stripes Embossing Folder (#123128)
Linen thread or twine
Dazzling Details glitter adhesive
I started with a 4 x 8 piece of Crumb Cake and ran it through the Striped Embossing Folder; then stamped and punched out the ornaments and leaves and just assembled from there.
The "Joy" ornament was stamped in Raspberry Ripple and it's one of the new foam pads. See how solid it stamped? Makes me do the happy inkin' dance!
You really must try the new stamp pads. They are so juicy. They're lovely to work with; just remember to use a light touch…lightly tap, tap, tap the stamp onto the pad for great results.
Ready to try the new foam pads yourself? Skip over to my website here and place your order, or call me to place an order for you. You really just have to get one of these stamp pads in your hands to appreciate them!
Meanwhile, that makes one Christmas card down. Only 199 to go!
