My daughter lives in Washington, D.C. and I live in Duluth, GA. We have learned to cooperatively design over the phone. We talk about it, I put the samples together and send photos to her via email. Then I order the supplies for her and have them sent directly to her.
This is the design Kate has decided upon for her Christmas card this year, and it's CASED right from the Stampin' Up! catalog.
While my natural style leans towards multi-layered shabby-chic, her taste is clean and graphic so this design spoke to Kate.
I think she's going to use the striped Riding Hood ribbon instead of the Real Red striped ribbon I've used here. The base is Chocolate Chip, and the panel is Mellow Moss. The tree is stamped using the Season of Joy stamp set in Mellow Moss on Whisper White, then cut out and attached with dimensionals. A strip of Baja Breeze cover stock complements the star stamped in Baja Breeze ink. Rather than cut out the star embellishment as shown in the catalog sample, I punched it out with the half-inch circle punch and inserted a brad.
I'm glad Kate's the one who is going to be cutting out all those trees!
