Better than Carpe Diem

Starting a major project makes me reflect on the nature of inspiration. (Some would call this procrastination…I prefer to think of it as reflection.) PurpleAndGreen

I’m working on a gift for eight special friends. Every year we hold a Christmas gathering and exchange small gifts. Gifts that are handmade are especially appreciated.

Given my love of the paper arts, it’s become somewhat expected that I will do a fabulous handcrafted paper project. Can you say, "pressure!"???

This Christmas the event was at my home, and I simply did not find the time to make my pals’ gifts. So, knowing they were wonderful, supportive friends, I came clean and confessed I did not have their gifts ready. My pledge was to complete them before our next gathering in April. They all graciously agreed.

It’s April. Yikes!

While somewhat frantically looking for inspiration, I came across this card in my collection. It uses the background stamp, Tres Chic, and the focal piece is from the Embrace Life stamp set. The colors are Perfect Plum and Mellow Moss, and the corners are made with the Ticket Corner punch.

It strikes me that "Embrace Life" is a mantra that works for me. Never mind "seizing the day"…the day too often seizes me!

  1. I love this card – the colour combo is one of my favourites, and I really like the Tres Chic BG with the flower from Embrace Life – I’m sure your friends will love it!
