Sweet Invitation

Marieinvitation2My dear friend, Marie, called to ask for help designing an invitation for her niece’s baby shower. The baby had arrived weeks early and 25 invitations were required in the next 48 hours — yikes!

So I gulped and said, "Sure!" (Laundry, banking and grocery shopping can wait, right?)

Like everyone else, I’m madly in love with the Ginger Blossom designer paper and my scallop punch. Coming up with an easy-to-do but attractive invitation was a breeze with my stock of matching colors.

The base card is Pretty in Pink cardstock, cut to 4 1/4 x 11. When it’s folded in half, you have a tall card that folds up from the bottom. Random hearts were stamped in pink.

Mellow moss cardstock was layered under the Ginger Blossom paper panel, and the two were tied with Pink Taffeta ribbon.
The scallop punch was used to create the peek-a-boo hole in the front, and to punch out a matching scallop circle in Ruby Red.

The inside was so simple to complete! Invitationopen_2

The hearts are stamped in Groovy Guava and the word "sweet" in Ruby Red — both stamps are from the Sweet Shapes stamp set.

A circle of Mellow Moss was punched out with the 1 3/8 inch circle punch, and the stamped heart/sweet combo was punched out from Very Vanilla using the 1 1/4 inch circle punch.

Need a design for a special event? Let’s talk! (Just give me a little more than 48 hours, if possible!)
